This lecture builds on last week's introduction to international monetary economics by introducing a basic macroeconomic framework based on national accounts, then moves on to contrast two ways of thinking about macroeconomic relationships--post-Keynesian and Neoclassical--and then finishes with the main workhorse model of monetary economics, IS-LM, which we extend slightly.
