Here's an .mp3 of the interview I did on the Last Word on Monday, ranting about properly fleshed out policy proposals from both opposition and the government. My main point was that both the government and the opposition seem content to play the old game of rhetorical one-up manship when it comes to the economy, with the government trotting out simple 'we've set up a committee' phrases, and the opposition trying to score points off them. What's need now is coherent and well-fleshed out policies, the kind you don't read about in Fine Gael's Recovery through Reform document (those are just headings, not implementation strategies), and the governments Smart Economy position document.
